While I hate getting stuck in poorly designed IVR phone menus just as much as you do, here are 4 examples of using IVR to create a “wow, that’s cool” customer experience.
1. Don’t press any buttons. The Moshi IVR Alarm Clock recognizes what you say. Not ideal for sleep talkers.
2. You’ve probably seen a famous “Starring You” video by JibJab, but the Washington Capitals take interactive videos to a whole new level. Fans can not only create a video using a personalized headshot, but they can also record a message over the phone to share with friends. Try it out here.
3. Audience members viewing 13th Street’s “Last Call” horror film can actually determine the flow of the movie by interacting with the actors over the phone. This is the Choose Your Own Adventure of the 21st century.
4. Speaking of audience members, SingStrong used Ifbyphone’s VoteByPhone application for a live audience poll at their a capella competition. Audience members called a phone number to vote for the best performance while watching real-time results on a big screen.
